I started Fight’n Ca. LLC in 2020, to support families that are battling a cancer diagnosis. My goal is to allow cancer patients to design a shirt that they feel comfortable and empowered wearing. Their design is brought to life and provided to the immediate family for free. We then sell the shirt to anyone looking to show their support. The goal is to help rally communities and build support systems for those we are fortunate enough to work with.
I was diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkins Lymphoma when I was 17. More than anything, my diagnosis showed me how strong I was. With that said, I couldn't have done it by myself, nor was I supposed to. It was my friends, my family, and my community that motivated me to come out on top.
I understand not everyone feels this way. It’s not easy to stay on top of the feelings presented. I want to provide a distraction in the form of shirt customization. I want to allow that individual to entirely design a shirt, that represents who they are, their emotions, and their strength.
This shirt is intended to give this individual strength when it’s needed most. Whether it's on days of treatment, worn at home, or just kept handy. The shirts are comfortable by touch, and present strength by design.
As a survivor, I’ve lived the emotional battle presented by this disease. It is empowering to not only wear your design but also see others showing it off. Victims of cancer should not feel alone while going through treatment. These designs worn by a community will show each family how vast their support system truly is. When others receive their shirts and share pictures with the family, this will represent the support these individuals deserve.
December 4th, 2015, was my last day of treatment, which initiated my duties as a survivor. I have presented my story to many organizations, including, Relay For Life, Little League Organizations, Dream Factory of Maine, and local news sources. This clothing line and these stories are my next chapter as a survivor. I know the impact my community had in my fight, it's my goal to recreate that for others.
